Mod Fashion

Mod is a term created in Great Britain in the sixties which derived from the term modernist. What spawned out of this word is a vibrant subculture that spread from Great Britain to many other countries influencing fashion and music predominantly in,
- USA
- Canada
- and Japan
In Japan there was also a similar subculture to mod culture which emerged at a similar time called Bosozoku which exibited similar fashion and violence.
When it comes to the style associated with Mod culture this quote by Colin MacInnes encapsulates the look:
Send me an email"College-boy smooth crop hair with burned-in side part, neat white Italian round-collared shirt, short Roman jacket, very tailored (two little vents, three buttons), no-turn-up narrow trousers with 17-inch bottoms and absolute maximum, pointed-toe shoes, and a white mac folded by his side."
